Right now in our world, we are now more than ever in need of radical revolution. Whatever your race, gender, socioeconomic status, nationality, or geographical location, it is clear that there is a worldwide call for change from across all peoples. Our world is wracked with war, violence, poverty, hunger, injustice – our planet is going through mass extinctions, deforestation, rising sea levels, unseen levels of pollution and smog, depletion of natural resources --- the list goes on.
However, as Albert Einstein famously said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.”
What does this mean?
What Einstein and spiritual leaders today are pointing to is the fact that all of these problems we see in our world today stem from one single issue: humans are living unconsciously. We must awaken, become aware, and raise our level of consciousness as a whole human race in order to really heal ourselves and our world. It is actually quite profoundly simple. And yet the awakening of the consciousness of the human race is the only shift that needs to happen in order to find a solution to every so-called problem that humans and our planet is facing today.
Now, this may seem simplistic. This may seem crazy. How could this one thing – this consciousness thing - solve everything from corrupt politics, wars, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, broken educational systems, racial discrimination, poverty, etc? These issues are way too complex.
Well, of course they are too complex. They are much too complex for our minds and our current state of awareness to figure out. That is why they continue to perpetuate. And that is why we must enter a completely different level of consciousness to find solutions.
Okay, so if this is true, how is this conscious awareness thing going to solve all of our problems, you may ask.
Let me start with this. When we awaken and become consciously aware, we come out of the stream of thinking that constantly exists in our minds. This is the first and most important step. The vast majority of all humans spend all of their lives living in their thoughts. This means that we constantly are thinking, and we are listening to and believing our thoughts with no awareness to notice that we are doing so. So the first step is to create some space and distance from our thoughts, notice that we are thinking, bring awareness to what our thoughts are saying, and simply observe them as thoughts. Not truths. Not reality. Just simply a thought that we can hear occurring in the mind. When we observe thoughts in this way, with consciousness and awareness, we can allow them to gently pass by like leaves floating down a stream.
As soon as we come out of the constant chattering and thinking of the mind, we come into the experience of being. We move into a state of feeling the experience of being alive, right now just as it is. We tap into the life force that feeds us and fuels us. We sense the aliveness in our cells and our bodies. We taste the flavor of being-ness, of life.
This life force, aliveness, and experience of being is universal. It is universal and eternal. And when we connect in with this life within us by simply reveling in awareness of it, we tap into something much greater than anything that we can think of. In this state of conscious awakened awareness, we connect with the source of everything. It is an intelligent force beyond what our limited human minds can think of. And importantly, it is the same source and universal power that is in every atom, every cell, every molecule in this universe. So it connects us all. It is the same. It is that notion that so many of us have come to on our own – we are all one. And with that, we can heal ourselves and our Earth.
We are all born with a great purpose. Heal ourselves in order to heal the world.
With love, hope, and healing for all,
